The Ones We're Meant to Find by Joan He

slow-paced

3.0

There were a lot of things I liked but a lot of things I didn't(or just maybe didn't understand?).
I really enjoyed the premise and setting (even though it is a very real setting with everything going on with climate change and how the global south is being the most affected/hurt thanks to the actions of the global north). I also loved the sisters and their dynamic. I loved the time spent with Cee on the island and Kasey searching for her sister. I generally liked how this was written.
I didn't like the super open ending or how rushed the ending seemed. The majority of this was pretty slow, really building the mystery of where Cecelia went, and then the ending was super fast and ambiguous and unfulfilling for me.
Would be open to reading more from this author but maybe not right away
