The first 30% dragged, and the last 30% was really good. The other 40% was ok lol. So we end up at the middle 3.5 stars. The premise and world is really cool, but the plot felt pretty predictable, and I guessed the big twist pretty early. It’s a book that is filled with tension and spice… but the spice could have been spicer imo. It wasn’t fade to black, but also not super explicit or detailed. It reads like it wants to be really explicit though, so that was a little disappointing. Another reason I’m leaving it at 3.5 is I don’t feel the overwhelming desire to jump into the second book.
