Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, The Ultra-runners, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen by Christopher McDougall

5.0

As a runner, who thought barefoot running was a load of rubbish, I was very surprised to find myself wanting to get out there and run barefoot, just to see if there was a difference in my gait. I have even found myself walking around the house with no shoes on and I come from a house where, growing up, I was told you MUST keep your shoes on ALL the time.

The story of the Tarahumara is fascinating and I loved learning about each character in the book. There was a lot of background information about everyone and everything and there is nothing you are left wondering about. It's an inspirational story that makes you want to get out and blast 10 miles out every time you pick it up. It brings back running for pleasure instead of the constant self-improvement and running to become the best.
