The Invention of Nature: Alexander Von Humboldt's New World by Andrea Wulf

5.0

An absolutely fabulous book which not only covered Humboldt, but those who were inspired by him and defined our modern view of Nature and all of her intricacies. I am highly inspired to pick up and discover (or rediscover) the various other nature-science-poets mentioned within. Despite needing to have an editorial comb-through regarding the rules for comma use (which is lacking in this book), I highly enjoyed the novel and felt deeply inspired by both it and the people discussed.
