Who knew fun-loving Rory had a dark past?
Let's face it, Rory ending up in a hot sandwich between two attractive men isn't that big of a surprise. One of them thinks he's been straight his entire life? Rory made his life conquering them. Makes sense now, doesn't it?
But even knowing Solomon Senior has been a tough SOB doesn't make it any less astonishing that Rory has taken the brunt of his anger and homophobia his entire life.
More than just giving him his happy ever after, this story humanises promiscuous Finn who never takes life seriously and has a mind dirty enough to shame Chuck Bass (don't mind me, just have been re-watching Gossip Girl while reading). It gives us more in-depth knowledge of Rory gives depth to a character that has been portrayed in previous books as quite shallow and uninteresting, even if shocking.
