Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare, Robin Wasserman, Maureen Johnson, Sarah Rees Brennan
5.0
I'm glad I decided to re-read this novellas even though the ending hurt me even more than the first time. I think I actually cried more than while reading Clockwork Princess. I understood some side characters more than the first time. I have been screaming at everyone who has read my The Infernal Devices reviews to read those books for Jem, Tessa and Will but I also want to scream at you guys to read this one.
Talking about The Infernal Devices-- there's a scene with Will and Tessa and about certain Jack the Ripper which is not what you might expect. I also loved to read about James again and how he met his Parabatai. Will of course still wants to call for Jem for every little thing that happens.
."Well, I'm a Lovelace. My family quit Shadowhunting due to laziness in the 1700s.".
George is my favorite character after Will and James Herondale and I didn't think this re-read could make me love him more but I was wrong. George might look like an athletic (and he actually is one) but he's also such a sweetie and I just want him to safe forever. Did I mention that he has Scottish accent?
This is the book that first made me love Simon Lewis. I can relate to him, not because he's a gamer because let's be honest and I could die even in games made for seven year olds but because he's a Doctor Who fan and tries to hide his insecurity with jokes. Simon hates to appoint people, so he decides to leave New York and become a Shadowhunter.
.“Maybe one day it will be just you and me, my little blueberry.".
The only story I could care less about was about Robert's past. I didn't care to read about his past with Valentine or that he was a homophobic even before Alec came out. But besides that I absolutely loved this book; we get not one but two friendship goals and I actually cared about the romances. We didn't get to see enough Magnus and Alec or Simon and Izzy in the Mortal Instruments, so get to see more of them made me so happy.
