Fire in the Lake: The Vietnamese and the Americans in Vietnam by Frances FitzGerald

5.0

A tougher read than A Bright Shining Lie – but interesting in approaching the Vietnam War from an anthropological perspective to supplement the usual sociological, military, and political analysis. Especially impressive for having been written in 1972, before the end of the war itself and while many sources were still unavailable. Fascinating account!
