The Butcher and the Wren by Alaina Urquhart
2.0
Can someone please remind podcasters that they don’t need to write a book?
This read like poorly written self-insert fanfiction, which was very odd considering the subject matter. I genuinely didn’t care about the plot, the characters were kind of ridiculous, and I was annoyed about the setup for a sequel.
I’ll probably read the next book (only because I already snagged a library copy), but won’t rate it if I end up disliking.
CWs for autopsies, animal violence/death, graphic violence, torture, death/murder
Story: 2/5
Audiobook: 5/5 (narrated by Sophie Amoss & Joe Knezevich) - the narration was well done at least
Length: 6h23min
