Casa Mañana: The Morrow Collection of Mexican Popular Arts by

informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

5.0

I thoroughly enjoyed this book focused the Morrows who went to Mexico when Dwight became ambassador and then became ambassador and then changed the face of collecting Mexican art. The essay by James Oles discusses exhibitions of Mexican art in the US inspired by the Morrows including an exploration of the distinction between Mexican art influenced by the Spanish Colonial era and Mexican folk art.  the other essay I enjoyed focused on the Morrows’ home in Cuernavaca including the murals of Diego Rivera.  The book as a whole discusses the Morrows’ use of Mexican art to foster better relationships between the United States and Mexico.  Truly an outstanding book. I learned a lot and the writing was excellent.
