Review by Camryn McLarkey of The Literary Sanctuary

Synopsis: Lizzie is a talented artist and junior at a private high school in New Hampshire. Her boyfriend of three years, Jeremy, is co-captain of the soccer team and her best friend Chelsea loves being the center of a boy’s universe..but never for to long. Lizzie has started growing apart from her boyfriend and things get seemingly complicated when she locks eyes with new boy in town, Drew. Lizzie has always been a sensible girl but she can’t manage to get Drew off of her mind and can’t explain why she feels they have met before. This task proves even more difficult when Drew begins dating Chelsea. How can Lizzie have feelings for someone she doesn’t even know and more importantly is she willing to give up everything to explore the sparks she feels when he is near her?

Sanctuary Review: Rememberance is an excellent debut novel for budding author Michelle Madow. Michelle definately plays to her target audience by exploring all that it means to be a confused teenage girl including dating, social cliques, and learning about what makes you special.

The plot of Rememberance is richly descriptive and well developed leading the reader down a road not wanting to put the book down until the very end. The physical appearance of the characters are well described but the characters were a little under developed for my taste. There was an excellent base for the characters but we didn’t get to know why the characters personalities were the way they were with the exception of Chelsea.

Rememberance is also a great candidate for the first book of a series. The end was satisfying but still left you with a few questions. Perhaps a sequal may be in order.

In conclusion this was an easy and great read with lots of twists and turns. I will definately be recommending it to others and looking for the next literary work from Michelle Madow.
