"The Witchwood Knot" is the first book of the Victorian Faerie Tales and it is in the same universe as the "Half a Soul" series. Actually, there were some details and names mentioned from that previous series, so I suggest reading that one first, even though this one has a completely different mood. 

That said, the story was enjoyable, dark, and kind of creepy at times. Also, the characters were adorable and funny.
