I really liked this book. In terms of writing it was very easy to read and so was able to finish it in 2 days. The thing that I liked best about this book was the accuracy of it: from the fans to the labels and right to the tabloids, the author captured every shitty aspect an idol and here in this case a gay idol goes through.
I loved Hunter and his bandmates. Their friendship could've been shown more but whatever was there was so sweet and supportive. Initially I disliked Kaivan but he showed that everyone makes mistakes and it's very important to understand your mistakes and grow above them.
I liked the narrative. I liked how the story was told through tabloids, interviews, setlist and emails. That added touch of reality made me feel I was really reading about a real boyband.
Also I love boybands. I grew up listening to one and still now listen to many. They are great. Their music is great and real. Their lyrics matter and are important to be heard and worth singing along to.
I say f##k them who think teen girls are stupid to be their fans, that it's gay for boys to listen them to. Be out, loud and proud.
