The Hunt for Atlantis by Andy McDermott
3.0
The adventure was fun, but the action was ridiculous.
This novel includes men jumping onto moving trains (from other moving trains), dangling from helicopters on rope, and riding motorbikes out of flying planes. Just one too many action movies were watched during the making of this novel.
However, I did find the story to be interesting and I liked all of the lore and puzzle-solving. The characters were developed and all had solid relationships with each other and fleshed-out motivation, but it all did seem rather cliche and cookie-cutter. I'm interested in seeing where the series goes in general, but hopefully the lore will stay at the forefront and the ridiculous aspects will be left behind.
