This was my attempt to kill two birds with one stone: 1) Can I listen to fiction audiobooks? and 2) I committed to reading/listening to some anthologies or essays this year and hadn't done so yet.

This collection seemed like a perfect fit for me: short stories based on the paintings of Edward Hopper. But while I enjoyed the stories for their varied styles and contributor voices, I probably would've enjoyed it more if I could see the paintings each piece was based on. Since I did most of my listening while on my morning walks, I couldn't just pull up the painting and refer to it constantly on my phone. Also, I had trouble figuring out which painting was being referenced one each story. I imagine the printed book would've been better for this.

My experience was 3*, but that feels unfair to the book. I think it would've been closer to 4* if I had been able to view the artwork, so that's my rating.
