I am not usually drawn to dystopian, but as I am slowly making my way through Saramago’s works, I just had to read Blindness. I think it is my least favourite of his works thus far, but I still loved reading it. I think above all, this is a novel about language, and Saramago truly is a master of the word. The characters infuriated me, and I was very glad to see certain people die. I shall never forgive the Doctor.
