This book has such a swoon-worthy hero. Brenna went through a traumatic experience and she is trying to heal, and Judd is respectful, understanding, supportive, and caring throughout that process. I really appreciated how the book thoughtfully explored PTSD and portrayed Brenna’s challenges with sensitivity and I loved following Brenna and see her be so resilient as well. I loved the angst and how sweet their relationship was despite Judd's effortsto remain cold and distant, their story is such a satisfying slow burn romance. My only minor critique is that a few of the steamy scenes felt a little clinical, but it didn’t significantly impact my enjoyment.
Something that I love about this series is how each books reveals more and more about this intricate world and the positions and internal struggles of the different groups. The macro-plot in this series is truly so interesting.
