Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough

4.0

I loved this book, it had me gripped from the start and kept me guessing throughout. The ending blew my mind but literally came out of nowhere.

Throughout the book we were led so many things that weren't as they first appeared. The different characters points of view was spot on and really had you believing what was going on. I really liked Rob's character in the past views, I thought he was a great companion and support for Adele. I was rooting for them to have some sort of romance all the way through, which is why I'm more disappointed in ending. He met David once and instantly hated Adele to the point he wanted to get rid of her or atleast "be her" immediately. It was a bit of a shock that everything in the book was a lie and that the 2 characters I disliked the most were the good guys all along. So for that the book blew my mind.

The reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was because of Louise, I found her quite annoying, she was very much about self gratification and seemed more interested in her affair than her own son. Nor did she try and support or safeguard her friend when she thought she was being abused until near the end. Even though by then, we knew that was all a plan, she still did very little, so I had very little sympathy for what eventually happened to her.

I would highly recommend this book though and I'm excited to see/give my review on the TV adaptation.
