The Brightest Star in the Sky by Marian Keyes

3.0

I didn’t know what to expect with this book, especially having enjoyed some of Marian’s other work I had been warned this was different...

The book is narrated by a creepy mysterious being which I still don’t think I truly understand. The book is 600 pages long which requires quite the dedication from a reader... There are A LOT characters which sometimes takes a little time to keep track of everything that’s going on.

All the characters have quite depressing stories, none seem to be happy at all. One of the couples stories I struggled with more, it touches on rape, suicide, depression! Some of the characters are very unlikeable and I’m not sure if i was particular invested in any of them, maybe 1!

There isn’t a lot of happiness in this book. So I wouldn’t pick this up if you want an uplifting story.

It was however written in an easy to read/flow way and the chapters counting down the days led me to continue reading to try and reach the conclusion of the book, which If I’m honest I’m not sure I really got!?

This is getting 3 stars from me!
