I read this because it was recommended to me as cute, cozy fantasy and like, sure, it is that but I couldn’t help but feel that everything about the plot was too convenient. For example, characters would do things that didn’t really match their characteristics just for the sake of pushing the story along. Also, for a book this long, you’d think the romance aspect would’ve been given space to grow organically but it still felt so forced.
