Honestly, I was 3 and a half hours into this book and I was starting to feel like I had been a little.misled by the synopsis. Granted I still had a good chunk to get through so perhaps I ended it prematurely. I just got bored. I wanted to follow the rat that escapes from the lab who was.going to make me contemplate how I am with animals and humanity and how we can be better, etc. and instead I felt like I was being forced to listen to these human scientists, who I didn't really care for, and their back stories. They were hard to root for in my opinion. I'm starting to realize I think I don't care for Daniel Kraus because he either is the sole author or he co wrote it, I can't remember but I must not vibe with him very well. I just got bored.
