The List by Yomi Adegoke
3.0
I have had The List on request from the library for months and I have been really looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the expectations I had.
My main issue was I couldn't fully relate to these characters so I didn't find their situation as impactful as intended. They are influencers, wealthy, living in London and I just couldn't get to grips with their personalities. I found Ola to be quite unlikeable and Michael, without spoilers, I couldn't empathise with him as the 'victim' due to other choices he had made in the relationship.
I did enjoy the mystery aspect of this novel but whilst the ending does attempt to tie up loose ends, I found the conclusion to be quite unsatisfying.
This novel demonstrates how powerful and scary the internet can be. Overall I enjoyed my time reading this but it wasn't as successful as I hoped it would be.
