Where Happiness Begins by N.S. Perkins
5.0
I really loved this story!!! Everything from the beginning, middle to the end with tears of happiness. Lilianna and Carter have made their way into my heart. I love the idea of fate had a way of making things work out in the end.
Lili and Carter both have past trauma and struggles that are in a way are similar but very different. The way this is intertwined in the story is incredible. Both have a chronic illnesses- she has a chronic kidney disease and he suffers from alcoholism. They each are holding back from being their true self due to things that have happened in the past. I love that together they can grow and learn to move past those things. What starts as a marriage of confidence builds into the best slow burn. I loved watching these two strangers become friends to lovers.
I do recommend going in blind as there are aspects of the story revealed later and I think they could easily be spoiled. Just jump in fall in love with Lilianna and Carter too! It’s the best all the feels story!
”Marrying you was the best mistake I ever made. It ruined me for the rest of my life, but it also made me see I had a life to begin with.”
