Remainders of the Day by Shaun Bythell
5.0
Ahhhh, the sweet, sweet sink into a favourite place.
Over the moon to see this third instalment, made even better for having made the trip to Wigtown and The Bookshop (shout out the the wonderful Emporium while I am in about it) after lockdowns in 2021.
I have subscribed to the Random Bookclub this year, looking forward to what that brings.
Read this if you want to: 1. Fall in love with the very South Westerly part of Scotland 2. Laugh 3. Learn a little about antiquarian books and binding 4. See into the mind of a bookseller 5. Become attached at a distance in a mild soap opera way to a group of people connected to the author/shop 6. Become self conscious in antiquarian/second hand bookshops, spotting yourself amongst the behaviours of The Bookshop clientele.
