On this re-read I listened to the audio. This story of family, wealth, dysfunction, and hatred centers around a murder at an inn outside of Three Pines. We get to spend time with Armand and his wife Reine-Marie who are celebrating their anniversary at the inn. Once again the details from the first read were vague so it all felt new to me. 😂 I am still a big fan of Louise Penny and her writing.

I want to go to Manoir Bellechasse, especially if I can swing it when Armand Gamache is visiting. I had heard from many people that this, the fourth in the Armand Gamache series, was fantastic. It did not disappoint.
I really like Louise Penny’s style of writing. She engages me with her prose, wisdom, interesting characters, and creative story telling. I feel like I am sitting around a fire pit listening to the most interesting people tell me about subjects I have never considered.
Excited for book five.
