The Trio by Johanna Hedman
3.0
I’m in between 3.5 and 3 for this one. The pace at the beginning was excellent but the middle was slow and tedious. I enjoyed reading from the perspectives of Hugo and Thora. It would’ve been good to also read from August’s perspective too.
The plot was interesting and not really what I was expecting at all. There were quite a few quotes that resonated with me in relation to loneliness and needing to put on a different personality depending on who you’re with. I guess that was the whole premise of the book.
I can’t help but think how toxic the relationships were though?!? Not sure if i enjoyed that. Like just COMMUNICATE.
Honestly though, I don’t think there was enough character development. Hugo essentially remained the same the whole novel.
