This is a fantastic follow up to book 1 Realm of Ash. It's fast paced and full of action, and you feel the emotional rollercoaster Ava endures throughout her endless trials and tribulations.
It has a noticeable shift in focus from Stone in book 1 to Blade in book 2, and gives us valuable insight into both these characters intentions, personalities, and their potential motivations surrounding Ava.
This book is darker and more violent but has a gripping storyline that makes you want to know what happens next on Ava's twisted journey.
What's clear is Ava is still in great danger from this realm of monsters, the deadly assassination she's bound to complete, and from the shift in feelings coming from her greatest enemy.
