I enjoyed this second book more than the first. I'd watched the TV series before reading the book and the one major difference is the Elven princess Amberle--in this book, she's weaker and more afraid. I liked Eretria and the nasty witch sisters. And Allanon with his mysterious Gandalf-like nature.
