The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women by Kate Moore
5.0
The (unbelievable) story of the women who worked in facilities using paints with Radium to paint watch faces then aircraft instruments.
•
An important piece of history and women’s history. It’s hard to believe what these women suffered through and the way the companies treated them.
•
This reads like a novel. It is full of research and detail. So many times I felt I was there, and so many times I had to put the book aside to absorb what I read or to just take a break because the descriptions of the suffering was so vivid and descriptive.

These women are heroes. Their own and because of them many of the industrial labor protections that exist today are a direct result of their experience.
