One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
2.0
PDA, public sex, and white saviorism are some of my least favorite things and all of which were included in this book! (honestly wish I did research before...i wouldn't have wasted the time)
August was insufferable from the start and it was just very hard to live in her head throughout this book and feel any semblance of connection or feelings toward her at all.
Her roommates/friends/side characters were good and I enjoyed the banter they had all together and this factor was probably the saving grace of this book and led me to muster up a 2 star rating but even then with all that said the side characters felt like an over exaggerated caricature of a queer friend group and I wish they were more developed.
In general also felt that the book was just super slow and seemed to drag on and on. I mean there is only so much you can do when like 80% of the book takes place in the same metro. Also once they had sex on the subway I was completely taken out .... like thats just nasty... like be so for real right now.
