After All I've Done by Mina Hardy
3.0

Disclaimer: An eARC was provided via Publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The Thoughts, opinions & feelings expressed in the review are therefore, my own.
Read this for #ARCtober2020 on Instagram hosted by @kimberlyfayereads.
This is one of the eARCs that I had received from Netgalley; and then promptly forgot about it - not because it was a forgetful book - but because once in a while, I go on a eARC requesting spree *face palm*
But I have decided to actually go back and read through all the eARCs available on my Kindle - and hopefully start of 2021 with almost all my eARCs read through!
After All I’ve Done - an adult mystery is made up of some very messed up characters - our protagonist, Diane just underwent major surgeries after meeting with an horrible motor vehicle accident.
She also is suffering through amnesia - she somehow is trying to piece together months of her life before the accident that she has no recollection of!
What she does know is that she loves her mother - in - law, who is more of a mother to her than her own and that her husband is cheating on her with her best friend; not that she seems to be devastated about it, because she also knows that she stopped loving her husband a long time back.
Here’s the thing - with this kind of mystery, I have learnt that we need to suspend our initial reaction to the characters themselves; be it positive or negative; no matter how hard your gut feeling screams at you to do so!
The plot and characters themselves are twisted, creepy and at times terrifying in their way of normalising their actions and the reasoning behind it!
I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns and while the bad guy, per say was quite obvious, the reasoning did come as a shock, and it actually did creep me out!
Would definitely recommend, if you are interested in thrillers that will have you glued to the book.
