Aircrew in Wartime: Personal Experiences by Norman Fidler

5.0

I had no idea Mr Fidler was old enough to have fought in WWII - he never looked his age. His recollections are very interesting, and demonstrates what he considers to be a local mindset, of humour and compassion. I was surprised and delighted to read that he'd been in Palestine pre-Nakba, and had supported the Arab cause over that of emerging Zionism. There's not a lot of political insight in this book, but what's there is welcome.
