Easily the best collection of short stories I've ever read. Although I must point out I've read very few.
All the stories are set in and around the same town and are loosely connected, some very loosely, some revisit the same characters at different points in their lives.
Even the shortest of the stories grab your attention right away and Tim Winton can do more in a few pages than some writers can do in volumes of novels.
