The Egypt Game by Zilpha Keatley Snyder
4.0
I loved this book as a kid and it absolutely holds up to an adult reading. A group of friends use their imaginations to re-create Egypt in an unused back lot, but begin to feel uneasy when their "oracle" really starts answering their questions. The characters all feel real, and although "issues" are addressed it doesn't seem fake and it doesn't talk down to kids. Now I just need to find a copy of The Headless Cupid. Thanks Choo!
