SHADOW CHASER by Simon Tudhope
5.0
I read the Bulgarian edition, which is not yet on Goodreads.
This is a classic gamebook with over 400 episodes, plenty of puzzles, hidden links, and a tiny maze. It is long, took me 3 days to complete. It's not too difficult, although some of the puzzles are challenging. Others are trivial. The mix is ... unusual. Not sure who the target reader is. Perhaps a teenager or a kid who goes over the episodes with a parent. A 10-12-year-old could not solve most puzzles, IMO.
The most difficult gamebooks have keywords and items that feel impossible to obtain. You can reach the end and the key is missing. Here, it's more like - here's a puzzle, when you solve it, turn to the episode that's the solution.
Overall, I had good times reading it. Looking forward to seeing the continuation.
