I saw the author discussing this book on TikTok and decided to read the ebook version (thank God for Libby). I will admit that I had high expectations for this book — the way the author described it and the excerpts he read were very intriguing — however, this book fell far below them. The short stories were poignant in their exploration of what would happen if we continue down today's political path, but the writing itself was juvenile and the worldbuilding often felt incomplete. The poems felt extremely undeveloped, and honestly more like poems that a middle schooler would write rather than thorough explorations of the human existence. I agree with the sentiment that Ginsberg could have used an editor other than himself in the process of publishing this work.
