This is story is the author’s debut novella, and I hope they continue to write dark romances because holy he11 was this good! It’s a short and spicy glimpse into a twisted love story between a tough but innocent woman and her psycho stalker. Please keep in mind that this is a very quick read at barely 81 pages, so we do not get too much plot, character development, character back-stories, tension, a deeper focus on side characters, or a thorough understanding of the characters’ motives. Understandable, considering that this novella is super fast-paced. If you want a quick, spicy read where the morally grey, dirty talking MMC is able to quickly charm the pants off his soulmate, then this is the book for you. Honestly, it was really fun, and the absence of a back-and-forth, will-they-won’t-they, MFC-fighting-her-deepest-desires type of angst was refreshing. It felt like a lighthearted romance novel… minus the blood play and murder. All in all, it’s a brief, but top-notch dip into the dark romance world.
