It started out well. Alix meets Josie and does a podcast about her. Ostensibly about being birthday twins. But, as Josie gets more intwined into Alix’s life, horrible secrets are revealed.

Josie tells Alix of how her much older husband groomed her. They began “flirting” at 15, secretly dating at 16, the told her mom at 18. She weaves a horrible tale of abuse. But when tragedy strikes Alix’s family it begins to unravel. Those closest to Josie begin to tell a different tale. I mean there was no real twist as Josie is an unreliable narrator. And I guess I would need more information to decide. But even if the twist is “true” it’s meh. My bigger problem was everyone discounting Josie’s story of grooming by her husband who was 43 when she was 15 and married while also dating Josie’s mom. All that gets discounted. I mean I get that Josie lied about things with her husband and many other things and she of course did something terrible to Alix’s family. She is a terrible person and I don’t think she can be relied upon as a narrator for any of it. BUT the facts about how she got with her husband are verified by everyone. I just can’t get past acting like 15 year old girls are out there seducing 43 year old married men for nefarious purposes because they’re just evil.
