Love, Chocolate, and Beer by Violet Duke
3.0
The first part was really great! All that bickering and animosity created some delicious sexual tension. Then they started having feelings for each-other and everything went to mush-filled hell.
By the time Luke's parents made an appearance, I was already bored and done with this story, but since I only had 25% to go to reach the end I decided to stick it out.
So, my overall opinion of this book is just that: a really strong, promising beginning that simply fizzles out while taking a sharp turn towards rolling-your-eyes-at-the-over-the-top-fluffiness territory.
As a side observation, I found that this book was written in overly long sentences. Sometimes I just forgot what I was reading about by the time I reached the dot at the end. It's exhausting reading a book written in endless sentences! Who knew?
