My husband has no name; he is my husband, he belongs to me.

“My Husband” is a plotless, psychological thriller that forces you to occupy the mental space of a wife obsessed with her husband. This book used its character-centric narrative to engage in very interesting themes about marriage, namely the way in which women are taught to aspire for marriage, how women are often taught that marriage and love are synonymous, and how an obsession for love as an ideal can come between you and your partner if you fail to keep that obsession unchecked. Despite the lack of plot, I found it difficult to put the book down because of how warped and offbeat the narrator’s psychology was.

And, that epilogue gagged me… BAD. I’m still reeling from it as I type this up. It was such a jarring plot twist that I genuinely didn’t see coming. I actually feel insane.
