This was a phenomenal, fast-paced mystery with plenty of thriller moments to keep the pages turning. I’m glad the story was told from only one detective’s point of view, because a lot of detail went into the investigation and I would’ve been pretty confused if I’d had to keep up with multiple perspectives and what they each knew/didn’t know. It was a fairly long-winded book, but worth it. The author kept providing little resolutions that also led to even bigger questions, making the ending that much more exciting.

No language or significant sexual content that I can remember. Drug use/addiction/overdose is discussed. Children dying/in danger is a major theme.
