5⭐️ Review:

“You are the keeper of your own fate.”

I AM NOT OKAY.

I’m struggling to think of what I can say about this absolutely fantastic book. So much happened that it’s hard to form it all into a coherent review. But I will certainly try.

“She would not let that light go out.”

The character development in this book was phenomenal and I bet it’s only going to get better as I continue this series. Celaena’s character completely transformed in Heir of Fire. I can hardly believe that the Celaena from Throne of Glass is the same girl that I fell in love with here. Chaol has grown. Dorian still makes me sad. Please let this man catch a break, I can’t take it anymore.

Rowan. A new character introduced. I love him. Wholeheartedly. I could read a whole book just detailing the life he has lived and all the things he has witnessed.

Manon is the other new character and honestly, it is her POV that had me on the verge of rating this a 4.5 star instead. While I still stand by the fact that her POV’s are my least favorite and started off quite boring, they steadily got better and I’m now looking forward to seeing how she grows.

There were other characters as well. Aedion & Sorscha, both of which I like too, but don’t have as much to say.

“A monster to destroy monsters.”

This is the first in the series to make me cry and I expect that it will not be the last. Wish me luck.

“To whatever end.”
