While the story concepts weren't bad, I could tell they were executed by a new writer. The writing was polished, but not polished enough for publishing. The first story had many unnecessary words and bland descriptions. One glaringly obvious issue was the main character in the first story noticing the same thing twice on the same page. I finished the first story and wasn't terribly impressed overall--the plot had been too predictable and didn't have its own spin to make it the author's--but I still tried to give the second story a chance. I couldn't get into it, so I didn't finish the rest.
