How to Get a Girlfriend (When You're a Terrifying Monster) by Marie Cardno
3.0
This is quite a very short read and I had it completely finished in just over an hour. As with all novellas I've reviewed, I wished this was longer. I loved both Trillin and Sian. Neither of them seemed to care much about what the other looked like or where they came from. It was instant love.
This is a sweet read and I definitely think contemporary lovers would enjoy this book, especially if they enjoy a little fantasy too. There is little spice content and there is no heated scenes. There is tension though...that I can assure you. So if this sounds up your alley, why not give it a go?
Luckily for me, and for others who enjoyed this story, there's another book coming out that follows Trillin and Sian and I am looking forward to seeing where that will go.
I am intruiged by the world that Cardno created and I just wish that I got a bit more depth as, in this book, the explanations of everything seemes rushed. It does quite fascinate me and I hope to learn more in the next book.
I will admit that I wasn't too keen on the fact that this book had no chapters at all. I'm the type of reader who loves reaching a chapter and being able to say "just one more" (I mean don't we all do that??)
All in all, I enjoyed this book and would rate it 3.5/5⭐
