The Faire has now entered the β€œinversion,” where there is no weather, no animals, no sounds. Just silence. And a lot of boredom.

We learn more about Clown in this book and who he really is. He plays a major role and by the end, I liked him. I don’t like clowns so I couldn’t help but feel on-edge whenever he was involved, but I liked his personality and how his character furthered the plot.

Unsurprisingly, Simon remains my favorite. We lean further into his madness in this installment and Cora slowly learns to accept him for who he is. His shadow was also much more animated and so cute.

Spoiler: He does ;)

With how this ended, I’m excited for book four!
