This grabbed me and I couldn’t look away. 

Initially I was worried because I’d worked out “the big twist” early on, well before it was revealed. When it was actually revealed about 30% of the way through, I realized that was the point: it was meant to be obvious to an outside observer. We are meant, as readers, to acknowledge how horrible things are while reading from the perspective of someone who is entrenched in the dogma of it all. 

After all, if the colonization of America were written as a fantasy novel, how easy would it be to see who was in the wrong?  If the story of Palestine were a sci-fi trilogy, would people finally realize that this is a genocide?
