The book opens with seventeen year old, Prince Jones, the self proclaimed teen Love Doctor during his radio segment on the popular local hip-hop show, Love Radio. He is also main caretaker for his mom who has MS and a younger brother. Prince has been enamored with Danielle (Dani) Ford since seventh grade.

A chance encounter in the library between the two begins the flicker of the flame. Presumptuous comments made by Dani during that initial meeting prompts her to follow up to offer up an apology. Prince takes advantage of the opportunity and looks to become more acquainted with Dani.

He tells her during their initial hangout that he can have her fall in love with him in three dates. He takes the opportunity within those three dates to learn more about Dani. He learns that she aspires to move to NYC and become a world renowned author. He takes this information and incorporates it in the dates they go on. Dani however is laser focused on her goals and scoffs at romance. Will this be enough to move her heart?
