This was fascinating and strange and enchanting and thought-provoking. It was like stories within stories within stories. Sort of felt like a mix of Alice in Wonderland and name-your-own-adventure books, and also a little conspiracy/secret society.
Loved the concepts of people being what’s important and worthwhile over places/things/shoulds, and the importance or impact of stories and possibilities and choices.
Also I loved that I had no concept of what was going to happen next and was so sucked into the story in the process. The writing was phenomenal the way it did that. It’s not a fast read by any measure but it was such a rich one.
