Good Omens by Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett

5.0

I don’t even know where to start with this one. Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is a great book, with a good story and hilarious moments.

Probably my favorite part of this book isn’t that it’s a fight between good and evil. It’s also not the unlikely friendship between an angel and a demon. It’s that the end of the world is upon us, and the antichrist has been lost.

Aziraphale (the angel) and Crowley (the demon) are the most unlikely of friends. While in the beginning they seem to be consistently working against each other, we see their friendship build over the years. After all, how can you be together from the beginning of time and not be some sort of frenemies.

I don’t want to give away too much. The book is hilarious and easy to enjoy. For every one yelling about it being blasphemous, remember even God has a sense of humor, research the platypus.

As an added note, shortly after finishing this book, we (my husband and I) checked out the series on Amazon. It’s amazing. I’m not ashamed to say we binged it all in one sitting. It’s that good.
