Not gonna lie, but I kinda knew how the plot was gonna play out after the first two chapters..

I understand that it is a very 'Indonesian-Chinese' thing to have big families and business relations but at one point I couldn't keep up with the names of the characters that were introduced and how they were relevant to the story.

Kudos to the author for showcasing the family/cultural/gender 'toxicity' that some Asian families experience though. However, I think the author could have merged historical events with the storyline a bit better. I feel like it wouldn't make a difference if she had excluded it entirely.
