This book! This book is a total rollercoaster of emotions, reading it for the second time I didn’t realise quite how much I had forgotten, it was like reading a new book! There were so much information and plot points that I had forgotten, such as Sofie Renast, I had forgotten about them completely, and the large role that Tharion plays, oh and also a dragon, I’d completely forgotten about the dragon!
There is so much information given to us in this book, and as with all previous re reads.I also noticed al of the Easter eggs to the SJM universe, and has given me so many theories for what comes next and where the crossovers may further.
I really enjoy the profession of Bryce and Hunt within this story, and also so glad they didn’t wait until solstice, the tension between them being far too much to handle, but I’m so glad the finally crossed that line and we got to witness it!
I also love the development of the friendships within this book, how Ithan is bought into, how bonds deepen and this little group really do become a pack/family.
they Asteri might be one of the worst villains that i have come across, but I can’t help but feel like we have come across them before, possibly in different forms, but I do think the Valg and Asteri will turn out to be related in some way.
I also really enjoy that this story adds the extra element of technology and astrology that we haven’t seen before in the SJM universe, and I cannot wait to see how this will play out in further storied ans across further worlds. You can tell there are so many threads woven together and throughout each world that it is going to take a lot more time until we finally get answers, which is rather frustrating.
Danika plays such a key role in this story, even though we lose her so early in the first book her presence is felt throughout this book as well as the first, and a part of me holds onto the hope that there may be a time where we see her again.
There are a fair few large plot points that happen in this book, and I don’t want to spoil it too much for any that are reading but the end of this book is one that I will never forget, and gave me a feeling that I have never quite felt before in a book. I think that might be why I had forgotten so much of the main plot of the book as that ending overshadowed everything. As a reader I felt elated (if you know you know) but there was also so much pain tied into the end of this book, but I cannot bare to think what may happen to some of my favourite characters in the next book. Again it is so hard to discuss without talking about major spoilers.
I really enjoy the Princes of Hel, and I do think they are going to play such a key element moving forward and they will be more than what we think they are.
This is such a complex and beautiful world and I cannot wait to see what comes next for them all!
